Garden Theatre’s youth acting classes provide students with a safe, fun, and supportive social community that will inspire them to love the arts.

Classes are made possible by Dr. Phillips Charities, Martin Andersen – Gracia Andersen Foundation, Duke Energy, and West Orange Junior Service League.

FRIDAY NIGHT IMPROV

Improv is an essential skill for actors and non-actors alike. No experience necessary.

Youth Improv

Fridays, April 24 – May 15, 2020 (4 sessions)
6:30 – 8:30 pm | $125 | Grades 7 – 12

Build your skills and push your creativity to the limit! Train with expert improv professionals, learning the art of Improv, be spontaneous, trust your instincts, work in the moment, and together as part of a team. A four-week class perfect for all skill levels.


SATURDAY MORNING SHOWSTOPPERS

Our Saturday morning classes give parents the opportunity to run errands or enjoy the Winter Garden Farmers’ Market feeling confident that your young actors are having the time of their lives, honing acting techniques, and making life-long friends.

Session 1

Saturdays, February 1 – March 7 (6 sessions)
9:30 – 11:30 am | $185 | Grades 3 – 6

Jump into the magical world of Roald Dahl, and act out your favorite characters from his book Matilda that inspired a beloved film and a Broadway hit.

In this fast-paced, fun-filled class, we will help students develop their musical theatre skills and captivate an audience through storytelling.

Saturdays, March 28 – May 2 (6 sessions)
9:30 – 11:30 am | $185 | Grades 1 – 3

Explore the journeys of your favorite heroes, geeks, and rebels from TV, movies, and Broadway!  Unleash your imagination and acting skills to create one ultimate musical performance.         


SUNDAY NIGHT ACTORS LAB

The Sunday night classes are ideal for aspiring actors.

5:00 – 7:00 pm | $120 | Grades 7 – 12

Develop a toolbox of acting essentials while exploring scene work, characterization, movement, and other key theatre vocabulary.

A great class for beginner to intermediate level students looking to enhance and refine their skills.
